I'm Derek Smyth, a Landscape Photographer based in Warrenpoint, County Down, in Northern Ireland. My passion for capturing the beauty of the Irish countryside has led me to create a collection of inspiring images that I believe offer a glimpse into the soul of this remarkable land.

My photographic journey began in my childhood, armed with a simple Kodak Brownie Camera. I loved documenting family moments and the world around me through the lens. Years later, my fascination with photography blossomed when I acquired an Olympus OM2n 35mm film camera. It was with this trusty companion and a set of lenses that I truly embarked on my journey as a Landscape Photographer. The challenges and rewards of working with film instilled in me a deep appreciation for the art and craft of photography.

Today, my equipment has evolved to reflect the advancements in digital technology. I now utilize a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Digital SLR camera, allowing me to capture intricate details and vibrant colours with stunning clarity. My photographic style is rooted in a deep respect for nature's grandeur and the subtle nuances of light.
